Tyler Blanton Electric Trio  has developed a strong presence in NYC over past 3 years, playing over 15 shows and creating a buzz for its unusual concept and group chemistry. Lead by rising star vibraphonist Tyler Blanton, the group consists of bassist Massimo Biolcati and drum maestro Ari Hoenig. Blanton’s unique setup involves a Malletkat midi controller which triggers a variety of synthesizers and samplers to create an eclectic and expansive soundscape. A modern and unusual twist on the trio format, the group draws on funk, fusion, and electronic elements which are brought together through deep grooves fresh group interplay. The group has performed at Rockwood Music Hall, The Living Room, 55 Bar,  and Blue Note NYC in a special configuration which includes trumpeter Jay Jennings(Snarky Puppy) and saxophonist Donny McCaslin (David Bowie).
